At YMB, we aim to encourage and expand opportunities within STEM across all levels. Intergenerational knowledge sharing, collaboration, and friendship help build a stronger society. By offering volunteer opportunities to university students, we hope to strengthen connections between science and the community and create a supportive foundation for those pursuing STEM education across all levels and ages.
My name is Enea and I am a second-year Bachelor of Marine Science student at SCU. I am originally from France and I am passionate about the ocean and its marine life. I love learning more about marine ecosystems and sharing that knowledge with others. Through the YMB program, I am excited to help youth discover the marine environment and inspire them to care for and protect the ocean.
Hi, I’m Jaycie — a second-year marine science student at Southern Cross University in Coffs Harbour. Growing up by the beach, I’ve always felt a strong connection to the ocean. From a young age, I knew I wanted to build a career that allowed me to work closely with marine environments and the incredible life they support. What started as a curiosity has grown into a genuine passion for marine conservation and ocean science.

I’m Claire, a PhD Candidate at Southern Cross University. My PhD is looking at how drones can be used for monitoring marine ecosystems, in particular rocky intertidal shores and coral reefs. I am looking at ways to classify and analyse drone imagery using machine learning. I am a keen scuba diver and love exploring and learning more about the marine environment.
